Robert Thomas Kerr
Bluffton, SC- Robert Thomas Kerr, 85, died Friday, December 26, 2008 after a brief illness. The Orange, NJ native was a graduate of Guilford College in Greensboro, NC.
He served in the United States Navy from 1943 until 1946 and retired from the insurance business.
A resident of Sun City for the past three years, he was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Hardeeville, SC, the Sun City Veteran's Association, the Sun City New Jersey Club, and the Sun City Golf Group. He was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy DuPont Kerr.
Surviving are his daughter and son-in-law, Betsy and John Belmonte of Red Bank, NJ; two grandchildren, Laura and Christopher Belmonte of Red Bank, NJ; a sister, Joan Mayer of Bluffton, SC; and a nephew and his wife, Peter and Ginny Mayer of Greenville, SC.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, December 30, 2008, at St. Anthony's Catholic Church.
Bob was our neighbor in Sun City and a good friend - always positive and, as he said, 'always moving!' - we will miss him dearly - sorry to have missed the memorial service - didn't see the notice until late Tues a.m.
